Name: Brian Birthday: 4/15/1971 Gender: Male
Interests: First, I spend a lot of time in prayer. I enjoy very much spending time with God. I pray through out the day while I work, have a time in the afternoon dedicated just for prayer, and "lead" or more like host a homegroup meeting... God's in control, not me... hehehe...
I love music (just about any genre). Oldies, pop, rock, jazz, classical, country (don't groan), Christian, reggae, etc... I also play drums. I have been playing for about 20 years or so.
Other than that, I have a small boat and have recently started exploring tubing (towed behind boat). Did I mention I like to go fishing? Oh... and target shooting at the local gun range. Expertise: Percussionist & Software Designer. Occupation: Computer related Industry: Computers (Software)

| Co-worker sent this to me. She added additional verses; I thought this was very well done and a fitting addition to the lyrics of this hymn. Verses to the tradition hymn, Abide With Me Abide with me; fast falls the eventide; The darkness deepens; Lord, with me abide When other helpers fail and comforts flee Help of the helpless, O abide with me Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day; Earth’s joys grow dim; its glories pass away Change and decay in all around I see; O though who changest not, abide with me. I need thy presence every passing hour. What but thy grace can foil the tempter’s power? Who, like thyself, my guide and stay can be? Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me. I fear no foe, with thee at hand to bless; Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness. Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, thy victory? I triumph still, if thou abide with me. Hold thou thy cross before my closing eyes; Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies. Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee; In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me. New Morning Verses by Chris McDaniel Abide with me, fast rises morning sun The daylight brightens; lord now help me run. When in my path, the rocks and pitfalls be. Oh thou my strengh, my shield abide with me. Abide with me, without you I am lost Though persecution comes at greatest cost Heavenward we look, for there our treasures be In every moment Lord, Abide with me Abide with me, my comforter Divine. In all decisions, Holy Spirit shine. Thy precious truth, like salve for sight shall be. With all thy armor Lord, Abide with me. | | |
| I am very excited that I have been asked to baptize a new friend and co-worker. What an honor and a blessing! The church hunt continues, slowly, but surely. Slowly mainly because I have been lazy. Though, I think we will revisit Restoration Life (http://www.restorationlife.org/) first impressions are that they are quite genuine and God's presense was quite evident the day we visited. We have decided will be renting another home instead of purchasing right now. So... we are on the rental home hunt, again. The one we are in is up for sale and the landlord is asking too much for rent compared to what other rentals of same or better quality rent for in the area. Does not make sense to pay more than we need. | | |
| This is an original I came up with. Pretty simple, skillet meal, serves 4: Ingredients: - 1 lb Boneless/skinless chicken breast
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- pepper to taste
- salt to taste
- 1 1/2 c. chicken broth
- 2 1/2 tsp curry powder
- 1 c. uncooked couscous (quick prep kind)
- 1 c. frozen peas and carrots
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1 apple cored and diced
- 1 small onion, diced (or 3 green onions, chopped)
- 3 Tbs olive oil
- 3 Tbs butter
Instructions: Heat olive oil in skillet on medium-high. Sprinkle cumin, salt, and pepper on both sides of chicken breasts. Cook chicken until done. Remove chicken from pan and cover to keep it warm. Reduce heat to medium. Add 2 Tbs butter to skillet. Add 2 tsp curry to skillet and mix into butter. Add apples and dash of salt and sautee until just tender (about 2-3 minutes). Remove apples and set aside. Add 1 Tbs butter to skillet. Add onions and dash of salt and sautee until tender (2-3 minutes). Pour chicken broth into skillet with the onions. Add 1/2 tsp of curry. Add peas & carrots. Bring mixture to a boil. Once at a boil, add raisins and apples and remove skillet from heat. Add 1 c. coucous, stirring quickly. Place chicken on top of mixture. Cover and steam the couscous until done. (5-7 minutes). Fluff coucous with fork and serve.

| 1 I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. 2 Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever. 3 Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. 4 One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts. 5 They will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works. 6 They will tell of the power of your awesome works, and I will proclaim your great deeds. 7 They will celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness. 8 The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. 9 The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made. 10 All you have made will praise you, O LORD; your saints will extol you. 11 They will tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might, 12 so that all men may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. 13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made. 14 The LORD upholds all those who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down. 15 The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time. 16 You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing. 17 The LORD is righteous in all his ways and loving toward all he has made. 18 The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. 19 He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them. 20 The LORD watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy. 21 My mouth will speak in praise of the LORD. Let every creature praise his holy name for ever and ever. | | |
| Thanks for the responses for the last quote. Interesting thoughts. For the benefit of the one who asked and for whom else may be curious, here is the list of songs that I have been playing on the drums of late. Have to admit, it is getting easier to play the list. I am getting the speed back in my arms. My right foot is getting better at keeping up, but still needs some work. Me thinks a new peddle is in order. I am still using a 1965 Classic Ludwig Speedking. It is a direct drive pedal, tension is by internal spring. Solid built (hey, it's older than me!), but, I think the spring is a bit sprung. We'll see. I may have some room for adjustment, still. Would like to look into a double bass pedal. Steve Wonder - Higher Ground
